Planning - Kate Nash- The Nicest Thing Music Video

All of our group was assigned to edit as all of us are familiar with the editing software, also as a group we were asked to produce a music video and as a result are all producers. Shandice and Bradley were thought to be the most confident in the group in which they put themselves up for the actors post. Perry and Charlotte were assigned to operate the camera and direct the whole production. Perry and Charlotte were chosen for this post as they are the most familiar with the camera and understand different camera shots and angles. Charlotte also took on the role of costume and make up as she is familiar with the artist of the song (Kate Nash) who we have chosen one of her music videos for our project; charlotte is familiar with the artist in terms of the props and costumes used.

Character descriptions:
Shandice Wright: This is the main character, who is looking for love. The character shows her emotions through a toy heart which she carries around which no one else but her can see. The character wants to give her emotions (the heart) to the boy.
Bradley Irving: This is the boy character which Shandice (the girl character) has met eyes with and want to be with. However he does not acknowledge her at all and she feels broken hearted. Unfortunately he cannot see her emotions which are in the form of a toy heart, which he also cannot see.

Concept:
Half Performance, Half Narrative. Some shots of the lake where the character is walking around will be performance (singing) and some other shots such as in the market in Covent Garden will be narrative.

Our props such as the diary and the toy heart express her emotions, which also gives away a part of her personality (deep thinker, emotional, sweet).

Costume:
Girl-Winter wear/Winter Dress/woolly hat. The character is dressed casually but bright as well which makes her stand out from the crowd.

Hazards:

Trailing leads while filming Use gaffer tape to secure leads
Filming in London To prevent being attacked with our equipment we made sure it was only in sight when filming and made sure we stayed in a populated area which was no trouble as the locations we chose were very busy.
Tape safety One person kept the tapes altogether to prevent them getting mislaid so that when they were needed for uploading that person could bring them in.
Camera safety When our group finished filming we always made sure the camera was safe by putting it into its carry case.
Battery life So that we could film when required we always made sure an hour before filming the camera battery was fully charged.
Footage safety So that no footage was lost we made sure that we kept all of it captured on the camera tape permanently so that if the footage on the project file got corrupted or lost we was still able to use the footage because there was a backup on the tape still.

Covent Garden. London Eye We successfully filmed at this location. After we travelled to the London eye to also film.
Sunday 22nd November 2009 Alexandra Palace Unsuccessful due to the weather. No filming happened.
Friday 28th November 2009 Alexanda Palace Successful.
